I 'upgraded' my HTC Touch HD to Windows Mobile 6.5 last week... currently I have an outstanding tech support call with Orange and using a very old phone in order to maintain comms...

 

The lesson here is technology is usually designed to do what it can do to the best of its ability at that moment in time:  if you feel the urge to try and extend its capabilities and upgrade the software, consideration should be given to whether the hardware is man enough to take it. In my case it was evidently  about pushing the boundaries too far and the fix process takes a lot longer than it did to 'upgrade'...

or i could just go get an iPhone :)
