After recent articles in the press, I have become increasingly concerned about the security of data on my USB memory stick. To overcome this, I have started using TrueCrypt encryption software......
It works by creating a file on the stick which is then encrypted. When you run the application (which you can from the memory stick to avoid having to install anything) it mounts the file and presents it as a disc drive (but only if you enter your password). Using it only adds a few seconds when syncing my project files (I use SyncToy) at client's sites, well worth while to achieve peace of mind. I dare say someone can crack it but the chances of that individual being the person who finds the memory stick on the train or in the pub are very slim!
