Cheap way to make a full partition backup

Just about to attempt to install Windows 7 so I need to make a backup.

Turns out windows vista home edition does not allow you to back up a partition. Therefore I am using Paragon's free back software it backs up a whole partition to another drive.

Windows 7 - Now there's a surprise

After the disaster of an OS that was Vista it was with some scepticism that I started the install of Windows 7 onto my faithful netbook.

Obviously, it was running XP rather than Vista and thus there was no upgrade path but that little hiccup aside, all went rather well much to my surprise.

It's early days but my Lenovo S10e is back up and running and I can continue to be productive on those extended commuting trips into the city.
